This last month I have been compiling the Gurkha Deaths in WWII for the Roll of Honour, ‘Regiment’ section.
This was one for my dad who had the utmost respect for the Gurkha. Their fearlessness in battle is well known but do not tend to get the recognition they deserve.
There is a short history but it will be added to over the next month.
The Gurkha Regiments Roll, supplies a page each for the 9,065 Gurkhas who lost their lives in WWII.I have included two timelines that will help those researching the Gurkha.
The ‘Country’ timeline helps place the Gurka Regiments in places of action.
The ‘Regiments’ timeline is important as it lists the countries of action for a particular regiment. This helps define where a regiment was in action.
